The Chongwu Ancient Wall is entirely constructed from granite, stretching over 2,500 meters in length. The base of the wall is approximately 7 meters high. The wall is designed with gates on all four sides, and watchtowers are placed atop each gate. The east, west, and north gates are further fortified with additional encircling walls, known as ‘wengcheng’. This was a significant military stronghold along the coast during the Ming Dynasty, safeguarding the peace of the local population for generations.
The Chongwu Ancient Wall is open to visitors all year round, with accessibility available at all times of the day.
