Xingcheng Seaside Scenic Area

Xingcheng Seaside Scenic Area is located in the eastern coastal area of Xingcheng City, adjacent to Xinghai Bay, and features a natural beach stretching approximately 1.5 kilometers long. Situated along the northern coast of the Bohai Sea, the beach boasts gentle slopes and broad, clean water quality, hosting several public bathing beaches and various water entertainment facilities. Every summer, numerous visitors flock here for swimming, beachcombing, sunbathing, or family seafood feasts, and it is also an excellent location for sunrise photography.

Upon arriving at the eastern part of Xingcheng City and the southern section of the coastal highway, one will encounter an archway marking the entrance to the seaside, with the towering Chrysanthemum Maiden Statue visible by the sea, narrating a touching mythological tale.

The beach within the bathing area has soft sand and no underwater reefs, making it ideal for swimming and water play. Visitors can also enjoy a speedboat ride (prices are relatively high but negotiable), and the beach is always bustling with crowds during the summer season. However, unlike the beaches in the south, the sand here is relatively coarse. Changing and showering services cost about 15 yuan per person, and parking fees are 10 yuan for small cars and 20 yuan for large vehicles.

To the north of the beach lies the cruise dock, where one can take a boat to Chrysanthemum Island, a journey of about 40 minutes. At the southern end of the beach stands the scenic spot ‘Three Reefs Overlooking Scenery’, featuring three elegantly designed sea-viewing pavilions—Waterside Long Pavilions—built on three reefs in the sea, connected by boardwalks. Visitors can ascend the pavilions to watch the tides and listen to the waves, or come early in the morning to witness the sunrise. Some also find solace in fishing here, making for a very pleasant experience.

If the tide is low, the receding seawater partially reveals the beach, allowing for shell collecting and crab catching, adding to the fun. There are numerous open-air barbecue stalls along the seaside, and many seafood restaurants nearby, offering a variety of seafood options at reasonable prices. The seaside, Xingcheng Ancient City, and seafood are the three major attractions of Xingcheng. A one-day tour in Xingcheng can include visiting the ancient city in the morning, heading to the beach in the afternoon, and enjoying seafood in the evening. Of course, with more time, one can also visit Chrysanthemum Island. The scenic area is open all year round, accessible 24/7.
